Pittsburgh catcher Russell Martin's two-run homer to left field highlighted the Pirates' four-run third inning. That gives the Bucs a 6-1 lead.
Also contributing to the output were Andrew McCutchen, Pedro Alvarez and Travis Snider.
McCutchen doubled, stole third base and scored on an Alvarez single off former Pirate Chris Resop.
Snider drove Alvarez in with a double off the left field wall.
