Neil Walker, Gaby Sanchez and Michael McKenry homered as the Pirates beat the Boston Red Sox 4-3 in front of 7,804 fans at McKechnie Field.
The threat of rain delayed the start of the game by 45 minutes.
It was the fourth home run of the spring for Sanchez, who his hitting .313 for the Pirates (10-13).
Daniel Nava had two hits for the Red Sox.
PROSPECT OF THE GAME: Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr., considered one of the team’s top prospects, went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a walk and his hitting .436 this spring.
UP NEXT: The Pirates are off Tuesday and return to action Wednesday in Orlando when they visit the Atlanta Braves. Kyle McPherson goes for the Pirates against the Braves’ Mike Minor.
