Update: Pirates 7, Red Sox 3
(baseball-wallpapers.net)
Definition of a huge inning - a guy pinch hits and gets not one, but two at-bats.
Andy Marte did such a thing today during the Pirates' six-run fifth inning. Marte hit for pitcher Jeff Karstens and doubled...and then flew out with the bases loaded to close the frame.
In between, the Pirates exploded. Among the highlights were a solo home run by Ronny Cedeno, a two-run double by Pedro Alvarez and a two-run single by Lyle Overbay.
Joel Hanrahan, named the Pirates' closer early in camp, has taken the mound to start the top of the sixth with Pittsburgh leading the Red Sox 7-3.
