Pittsburgh right-handed pitcher A.J. Burnett went through his first inning of work today with little trouble. Meanwhile, Boston starter Clay Buchholz gave up a run, two hits and hit a batter in the bottom of the first inning.
Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen's sacrifice fly plated Sean Rodriguez, who led off with a single.
It's 1-0 Bucs through one inning at McKechnie Field.
