New York Yankees vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Today's Grapefruit League contest, scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. start, at McKechnie Field features the New York Yankees in Bradenton. It's also a homecoming for John Ryan Murphy, who is battling for a spot on the Yankees as a backup catcher to starter Brian McCann.
Murphy, a Bradenton native, attended IMG Academy during his high school career, before the Yankees drafted him in 2009. He made his Major League debut in 2013 with a September call-up. Last season, he hit .284 in 32 games.
