End of 5: Red Sox 5, Pirates 1

The Boston Red Sox exploded for four runs in the third inning and currently hold a 5-1 advantage over the Pittsburgh Pirates as we head to the later innings at McKechnie Field.
David Ortiz crushed a three-run home run to center field, and Pablo Sandoval followed up with a solo homer to right field.
Big Papi and the Panda's dingers were both off reliever Ryan Beckman, a Pittsburgh minor leaguer last season. He relieved starter A.J. Burnett, who was lifted with a couple runners on during the top of the third inning due to reaching his pitch count tally for the day.
The Red Sox also added a run in the fourth inning off Shane Victorino's double off Pittsburgh closer Mark Melancon.
